Give your clients high level performance
Meeting growing storage needs in Direct Attached Storage (DAS) environments and Storage Area Networks (SAN) can be inefficient and costly. Organisations often struggle with expensive multiple servers routed to many storage devices, unequal use of storage, limited sharing and performance requirements– plus time-consuming backups and upgrades for each array. The LSI SAS Switch can help solve all of these problems, enabling your customers to connect multiple servers to one or more storage systems.
- High level performance
16 non-blocking, 4-lane-wide ports deliver 24 gigabits per second (Gb/s) SAS connections, providing a massive 384Gb/s total bandwidth. The Switch can outperform iSCSI and fibre channel at lower cost, using the SAS technology already available to your customers.
- Effortless management
The solution includes easier-to-use management software, giving customers complete control of the Switch and attached devices. The Switch is also plug-and-play, working straight out of the box.
Using JBOD and RBOD storage subsystems, the Switch supports up to 1000 SATA and SAS devices. Customers can expand and contract their environments as they please, and benefit from larger SAS topologies with reduced discovery times.
- Exceptional availability
For ultimate high availability, your customers can connect two Switches using independent redundant paths. The Switch also supports virtualised and tiered storage, including SAS and SATA drives and solid state drives (SSDs). Customers can also achieve virtual machine migration with the management simplicity of DAS.
- Reduced costs
The solution frees your customers from having to purchase additional costly servers. It also reduces the time and expense of managing, upgrading and backing-up numerous arrays.
- Superior security
The 'zoning' feature offered by the LSI SAS Switch lets customers securely assign drives to specific servers from their computers. In a few clicks, they can view the domain configuration, link and remove storage to servers without rebooting, upload firmware, and much more. Your customers can also enable a topology separate from network intrusion.
- Easier integration
Its slim, half-width 1U design integrates easily within existing SAS infrastructures.
- Efficient cooling
Distributing storage across a full rack results in more efficient cooling and further cost savings.
